2023-2024 COVID Protocols Update
In accordance with current public health guidance from the CDC, Vinton County Local School District will follow the Respiratory Virus protocols summarized below effective March 4, 2024:
- If students and/or staff members report a positive result from a home COVID test, they are no longer required to isolate at home for 5 days.
- Students may return to school when they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and improving symptoms are consistent with the existing health response to acute illness.
- Staff should use good judgment when determining their return to work after an illness, consistent with the current sick policy.
- Nurses will no longer be completing COVID-19 tracking forms and will not monitor return to school/work dates.
- Verified negative COVID-19 tests are NOT required for a student or staff member to return to school/work.
