Principal's Message

On behalf of VCLS, I’d like to welcome you to Vinton County High School, where our students strive to show their VIKING PRIDE:  Preparation + Respect + Integrity + Discipline= Empowerment. The years they will spend here will provide a foundation for their future endeavors, whether their next step is to go off to college or to enter the workforce arena. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead such amazing students and staff.

 

VCHS’ objective is to provide the best educational opportunity for each child, and the staff is committed to the success of ALL students.  Our academic, athletic, and activity choices are sure to support the goals of our kids.  Throughout the day, our students will receive academic instruction in all core subjects, along with an ever-changing menu of electives for students to explore.  We also work closely with Buckeye Hills Career Center, and The University of Rio Grande, to provide options beyond our building.  

 

We encourage our kids to be active in their school by joining a club; participating in student government; taking part in the play, band, or choir; or joining one of the many athletic teams we have to offer because participation within such groups helps instill many important life skills that they will need as adults… even if it is just attending our athletic and/or arts events. In closing, we encourage parents to support their child’s learning; it is a vital piece to a student’s success. With that said, our doors are open to our parents so that we may work together to produce an educated and engaged, young adult.  Again, welcome to Vinton County High School, here is to a great year!
